Yup, you got it, it's that time of the year again- Big Day Out has recently wrapped up it's annual tour of Australia, and once again we made the pilgrimage up to the Gold Coast for some music and some beach lovin!
Above are some of my BDO photos, I had a great time taking photo this year, though I wish I had taken my normal Fujifilm- they're sometimes a little funny about you taking cameras in but this year I had no trouble AND saw much more professional cameras than my humble s950 (or whatever it is, I hate remembering numbers).
Holiday was great fun

Though I wish I was at the beach again *sigh*
I also want to take the time to say that my heart goes out to all the victims of the Victorian Bushfires. If you didn't know, the south eastern corner of Australia is in the grip of Australia's worst ever natural disaster. There are over 170 dead and the number is expected to go up, with a lot of people still missing. Whole towns have literally been wiped off the map. Unfortunately, this is going to be the future for Australia- climate change already in progress has meant hotter, drier summers. We've had record breaking heat waves around here with very little rain fall down south (up north, well that's another story, they're currently enduring record breaking floods!).
Climate change really is the term here- we're experiencing a changing climate already- from the changed pattern of rain fall to the record breaking heat waves. Think about the weather in your part of the world- how is it changing already? Are you prepared for the next Victorian Bushfire or Hurricane Katrina? It seems that, looking at the evidence our summer has given us, you should be!
If you'd like to donate to victims of the fire visit the red cross, who also has more information on the fires:
